kiteHouse started in a 13-year-old's notebook. The idea was simple: the people who just learned something are usually the best at explaining it.

I'm 13 years old. I've been tutored, I've tutored my friends, and I've watched classmates spend hundreds of dollars on adult tutors who explained things in ways that went right over their heads.
kiteHouse fixes that. Every tutor here is a student who recently mastered the material — middle schoolers helping middle schoolers, high schoolers helping high schoolers. We speak the same language because we are the same generation.
We're not anti-adult. Adult tutors are great. But there's something different about sitting next to someone who took the same quiz last semester and got the joke your teacher made halfway through chapter 4.

Where things stand right now: I started kiteHouse about three months ago and have tutored one student so far. Every session runs the same way — I welcome the student, ask how they're doing, we go over what we're covering that day, and then we work through it with a structured plan instead of just poking at homework. I've learned a lot about tutoring since I started, and I keep tightening how sessions run.
